Have you ever felt as though the world was moving too fast, and you were struggling to catch up? It’s easy to get caught up in the routine of things. To our younger audience, deadlines, exams, and assignments appear never-ending. To our older readers, the 9-5 makes it too easy to get stuck in an endless loop. By the time the weekend rolls around, bedrotting becomes the preferred method for relaxation.
It’s time to change up the routine! As we move from one obligation to the next, we overlook our own needs: wellness. Living in a mindset of abundance and mindfulness requires investing in yourself emotionally and spiritually. Once you achieve it, life becomes a little bit brighter.
In the midst of chaos, wellness can serve as an outlet. Without wellness, achieving comfort can be a strenuous task. April 6th, 2025 marked the beginning of a new chapter in the world of wellness. On Sunday, the Etho Wellness Club held their launch party in Las Vegas. Held at Fergusons Downtown, they brought their mission of promoting health and well-being to the vibrant community.
Wait. What Is Wellness?
LYF Founder Monica Garcia shared some insight on self-care and wellness. “I think a lot of the time it can feel overwhelming to think, Oh man, I also have to take care of myself when I also have school or whatever the responsibilities are.”
According to the Global Wellness Institute, “wellness is associated with an active process of being aware and making choices that lead toward an outcome of optimal holistic health and wellbeing.”
Admin Assistant and Wellness Coordinator Gabrielle Prater explains what it feels like to undergo stressful times. “I know I am fully stressed when I cannot relax,” she said. “When I realize I am fully tensed up, I have to sit in silence for a bit, take deep intentional breaths, rub my shoulders, or do gentle stretches to recenter myself.”
How To Start Your Wellness Journey:
If you are wondering if you found the right balance between work and wellness, here are some things to ask yourself:
What current steps do you take to nurture yourself?
When’s the last time you’ve dedicated time to wellness?
Whether it’s from engaging with your community or taking some time to reflect, there are various ways to start your wellness journey.
“At etho, we are dedicated to fostering positive growth, providing unwavering community support, and delivering transformative health experiences that redefine social wellness,” they wrote.
True to their mission, Etho Wellness Club displayed a plethora of familiar names in the wellness community: Trufusion, Happy Face Massages, Everbowl, LYF, and more! These organizations are all dedicated to the promotion of wellness in their own ways. With over 300 tickets, the event sold out. Attendees were able to enjoy refreshing beverages, massages, or take part in the cold plunge.
“It was a huge, beautiful venue downtown, which is always nice,” Kara Khunnaphan said. Currently, she assists LYF as an Admin and Marketing Intern. “They had so many booths, tables, and tents with different vendors and brands that all specialized in health and wellness.”
Other activities included live music, a wellness bar, coffee and tea, and holistic therapy. No matter where you looked, you were guaranteed a start to your wellness journey.

Monica brought the LYF team to spread our message. As we strive for the promotion of self-love practices, the community sets on a journey of growth. Incorporating the arts, a collaborative art station was arranged. Attendees were encouraged to add their artistic flare to the piece. Monica took part in the cold plunge with LYF members Kara Khunnaphan, Kathy Pham, and Emily Rains.
“We provided a community resource and spread information about mental health wellness and LYF’s mission,” Khunnaphan said. “We offered a community art piece where anyone could add on. We also partnered with Billy Hoveke and his wife, Sunray, who were doing yoga and offered free hugs.”

To Our Reader From Afar
Whether in person or digitally, there are various ways to start your wellness journey. If you weren’t able to attend the event, here are some questions to start:
A Mindset of Abundance: As you wake up or go to sleep, take some time to ask yourself: what are you grateful for?
“Practicing gratitude is an important skill to build, and it doesn't come overnight,” Kara Khunnaphan said. “I really enjoy finding the beauty or art in the little things in life.”
What Replenishes You? Is there a specific hobby, event, or place that helps you feel grounded? From museums. theatres, and parks, there’s an outlet everywhere you look!
“As I mentioned earlier, taking deep, intentional breaths and reminding myself that no one is perfect,” Gabrielle Prater said. “I never have to (or should) strive for perfection by any means.”
How Can You Start? At one of our own wellness retreats, we performed breathing exercises to recharge our mind and soul. Curious about which frequency is best for you? Take a look.
Recap
You just had to be there for the Etho Wellness event. If you missed it, don't worry! Etho Wellness will return with May the Vibes Be With You on May 4th, 2025. As someone who attended the event, I can't wait for the memories you’ll make. I’d recommend sunscreen, a change of clothes (for the cold plunge), and a camera to capture the moment.
As the world keeps spinning, don't forget to pause and breathe. Something as simple as practicing breath control can help reduce the thoughts flooding our minds. As we implement wellness in our everyday lives, remember the why. Why are we indulging in the wellness realm? To help yourself grow! Whether local or not, we encourage you to get involved in your wellness community. Life can be a whole lot better when you learn the balance between work and wellness. Until next time!
